This delightful queen Anne country house by the river Severn to the west of Shrewbury is set in 12 hectares of grassland and woodland. It lies within easy reach of the Welsh and Shropshire Hills with some of the most varied geology in Britain and a wide range of plants and animals.
Fieldwork Opportunities Habitants range from woodlands, heather moorlands and grasslands to nutrient rich meres, upland and lowland peatlands, streams, rivers, ponds and canals. For the geographer, glacial, periglacial ans furvival landforms complement the unique solid geology of the area. Historic settlements such as Shrewsbusy and Ludlow, and the new town of Telford are ideal for urban and settlement pattern studies. Ironbridge, "Birthplace of	the Industrial Revolution", is a short distance away. Accommodation 80 beds - students are accommodated in mainly shared rooms and small dormitories. Facilities 4 laboratories/ workrooms, library, computer room, drying room, student common room, weather station, visiting staff common room, weather station, shop, dark room, two fully instrumented catchments.
